POSITION TITLE: GOLF CART ATTENDANT (PART-TIME)
DEPARTMENT: WINDING CREEK GOLF COURSE/CLUB HOUSE
SALARY: GRADE 12 $7.61-$12.94 PER HOUR
FLSA CLASS: HOURLY NON-EXEMPT
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
Winding Creek Golf Course has everything you could want in a golf layout. There are holes that carved out of old growth forest, challenging lies on holes turning right, making scenic approach shots onto greens that would make any golf course envious. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Staff members required to take on bag drop will oftentimes provide the first point of contact for our members and guests and will be responsible for creating an excellent first impression. He or she is responsible for assisting golfers with their clubs, upkeep and cleanliness of the golf carts, as well as providing guests with directions to golf related areas.
This position offers Primary duties and expectations of a Golf Cart Attendant include, but are not limited to the following (responsibilities may change as the need arises):
- This position will meet and greet all members and their guests in a warm, friendly and professional manner in accordance with all facility policies and procedures.
- Responsible for cart cleanliness, cart supplies, cart condition and charging. As well as the rotation of golf carts to ensure uniform usage amongst the fleet.
- Assist golf shop personnel in the tournament setup of golf carts and range operations.
- Refer all major problems/complaints to a manager and/or assistant manager.
- Follow procedures in management of the cart.
- Maintain order and continuity of player traffic in cart parking and cart return area.
- Responsible for daily operations of range ball recovery utilizing both range picker along with hand picking.
- Responsible for washing the range balls to maintain their cleanliness and usability.
- Help keep all working areas attractive, neat and clean free of trash and waste.
- Follow procedures for proper opening and closing of the cart and range operations.
- Keep the outside area uncontested, neat, and clean. Do not allow carts to clog passage area (arrange them neatly after having been used).
- Inspect the condition of golf carts with specific attention to their cleanliness and appearance.
- Responsible for cart cleanliness, cart supplies, cart condition and charging. As well as the rotation of golf carts to ensure uniform usage amongst the fleet.
- Assist golf shop personnel in the tournament setup of golf carts and range operations.
- Refer all major problems/complaints to a manager and/or assistant manager.
- Follow procedures in management of the cart.
- Maintain order and continuity of player traffic in cart parking and cart return area.
- Tracking and reporting the need for supplies necessary for day-to-day operations of their given areas.
- Check carts for damages, if damaged, reports immediately to Golf Shop Team Member/supervisor on duty.
- Maintain cart staging for the day.
- Ensure carts are clean, with scorecard, pencil and full sand bottles.
- Unload clubs, cleans and places in bag drop area or on cart as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The golf cart attendant works closely with the Head Golf Professional on the outside golf operations to assure a smooth transition for members and their guests around the club. Primary responsibility falls on service to members, efficiency of cart loading, cart cleanliness, staging, and storing. The Cart Attendant must have excellent listening skills and an eagerness to provide excellent service.
Must be flexible in meeting the varying scheduling needs of the Winding Creek Golf Course, and may be required to work additional hours than scheduled, if necessary. Cart Attendants must be neat and well-groomed in accordance to the standards of Winding Creek Golf Course. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and interact with members at a high level.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ability to effectively present information and responds to questions from groups, managers, guests and the general public is important.
Other preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:
* Flexible work schedule availability including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
* Must be able to clearly communicate golfers’ and other guests’ needs to other Team Members.
* Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
* Minimum Age: 18 years old.
* Ability to stand and walk as needed for 6-8 Hours.
* Ability to safely operate golf carts.
* A positive attitude while on the job is also essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with varying physical abilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to physically perform the basic life support functions of grasping, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Must possess the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Considerable experience in customer service, familiarity with operating and caring for golf carts and golf facilities also preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a valid Class C Department of Motor Vehicles driver's license.
