The Thomasville City Cemetery Committee advises the City Council and staff on concerns that arise with the cemetery. First established in the early days of Thomasville by John W. Thomas, the cemetery includes the final remains of many of Thomasville's first citizens (including Mr. Thomas). The city accepted responsibility for the property in 1924. Today, the cemetery is essentially full, with a few burials taking place each year. The property includes a caretaker buildings, chapel, and small museum.
